Beaver Scouts are young people usually aged between 6 and 8 years old.
The youngest section in scouting, boys and girls can join Beaver Scouts from three months leading up to their 6th birthday. They can move to the next Section, Cub Scouts, between 7¾ and 8½.
Beaver Scout activities are based around making things, outdoor activities, singing, playing games, going out on visits, investigating nature, listening to stories, learning how to be safe and most importantly, making new friends. They are also introduced to the initial concept of teamwork when they are placed in their “lodges” so taking the first important steps in learning how to work together.
In Stockport we also introduce them to the wider family of scouting with District activities including District Camp and visit to the pantomime.
